Oregon Coast | Zoe Senior Shoot | Amanda Meg Photography

March 20, 2019

I always enjoy the opportunity to meet and work with a new client for a senior shoot! I love it even more when it takes me out of Eugene on a little day trip adventure! On this day, I got to take the windy but scenic drive all the way to the Oregon Coast.

It was in the middle of winter in Oregon which, if you don’t know the PNW, usually means rain, grey clouds, rain and more rain. Our coast with it’s sandy beaches is nothing like a warm, relaxing beach where you’d swim in the ocean without a wetsuit. No, our coast is beautiful but usually windy, wet and chilly, especially in the winter. We got super lucky this day though and had gorgeous weather, with beautiful, sunny, clear skies. It was just perfect!

I got the opportunity to work with Zoe thanks to a friend of hers from Siuslaw High School! Her friend happens to be one of my reps and referred me to her! Zoe and I had such a wonderful time that day driving around Florence that day. We tripped around just the two of us to all of her favorite, meaningful spots along the coast. We got to chat quite a bit during our drives and the shoot. I got to know about the sweet person she is!

I found out that she works at Dutch Bros. which makes total sense since she has such a fun, sweet personality with a great smile! We covered everything in our talks. From life in general, the future and college to friends, boys and her soccer career. I loved playing soccer in high school! Times I spent with my soccer team or on the field were some of most memorable moments. I loved connecting with her about that and always love connecting with my senior clients at their shoots. It takes me back to such amazing years and fond memories.

One of the things that I loved and actually really admired so much about Zoe at her shoot was how true to herself she stayed with her choices of outfits. I know the thing to do is go out and get a brand new or trendy outfit just for your senior shoot. Zoe, however, decided to wear things based on what she wears every day.

She wore things that represent who she is. Her ripped jeans and sweatshirt, her leggings and a flannel, her favorite Vans. That’s Zoe every day in high school and that’s what she wanted for her senior photoshoot. It was something I just loved that so much. I’d really love to encourage my other senior clients to try and do that as well! I was so happy I was able to capture her just as she is at this moment in time, gorgeous smile, Vans and all!

Before I began my shoot with Zoe, I got the opportunity to get some photos of her entire family that day. I met the whole family at a local coffee shop; Zoe, her two brothers, her mom, dad and the most well behaved dog I’ve ever seen in my life! This little dog was patiently waiting for them the whole time they were inside the coffee shop! It didn’t even move from where it was when they came out until Zoe’s dad let them know it was ok! Seriously, if I ever get a dog, I’m contacting her dad to train it!

All in all, it was a super successful and fun day! From the beautiful locations at the Oregon Coast only made better by the perfect and unseasonably sunny weather, to the amazing time I had working with and getting to know Zoe! I hope I get to do another shoot someday in Zoe’s life and work with her and her family again! Maybe even as her dad’s first dog trainer client! 😉
