Fun fact about me: when I was a newborn I had long, dark brown hair that stuck straight up! I bet it’s hard to picture this blondie with dark, fuzzy hair, but it’s true! After a quick drive up to Portland on the day of little Myla’s newborn session, when I saw her, it was like looking at myself in a mirror only a few decades earlier… 😉 I instantly fell in love with her precious face and that familiar head of hair. I couldn’t wait to start capturing this adorable new little family!
We were able to capture so many amazing photos of this beautiful little angel in her gorgeous nursery. The accents of grey, soft pink, light wood, and florals against a backdrop of white are just so perfectly put together. The room has such a light and airy feel to it. It is simple and yet so perfect with each detail having so much thought behind it. The sun light coming through the window that day gave the room an even brighter feel while filling it with warmth. It was absolutely perfect.
It’s so special for me to be able to preserve all of the little details that parents put together through photography. It’s so important for the parents to be able to look back on their babies first room. To remember all of the details and memories created there. For the children to be able to look back someday to see how much love was put into their first little space is just so special. Like that adorable little tippee! She is going to have that for a long time! I can see playtime, some quiet time, books read with her stuffed animals! So many memories to be made!
I also had to of course get some photos of her incredible collection of clothes! Can you say, best dressed baby? Complete with all of her little Nike shoes thanks to her dad that works for Nike! I just can’t wait to see her in all of those!
We were able to get some beautiful images that day. Not only of her sweet, sleeping self, but also some of her bright, awake eyes! I love all of the individual ones we got of Myla in her crib and on the soft white rug. She slept so sweetly all swaddled up with that adorable bow on her head! But the ones of the new little family are my favorite. It’s so incredible seeing and capturing the love that these two have for their little girl. It fills me with so much joy seeing Megan and Alex get to experience this new chapter in life!
I had originally met them when I second shot at their wedding. I just love Megan and Alex! They are such a wonderful and fun couple that I absolutely adore being around. They’re literally the kind of people that make me wish we lived in the same town so that we could do weekly dinners! It’s rare to find the kind of good people in this world that you’d uproot your entire family and life to be closer to! But for them, I just might! Or, Megan and Alex, if you ever want to make the move on down to Eugene, I promise you’ll have dinner plans at least once a week! I guess for now I’ll just have to settle for seeing them when I continue to photograph big, special moments in their life! Which is just as fulfilling!
