If I had to use three words to describe Ali and Jeff’s wedding, they would be: best. day. ever. You wouldn’t think that a wedding which had a weather forecast of thunderstorms that actually happened would be considered the “best” anything. Especially an outdoor wedding, but that’s exactly what it was! This stunning wedding in Sunriver, Oregon, lightening strikes and all, was simply beautiful!
One of my favorite aspects of doing this wedding was the fact that it was like a giant family / work reunion for me! I worked for Ali’s dad’s company years ago before I started photography. I have known Ali and her family for over a decade! So it was extra special to be a part of this day! I even got to take photos of them getting ready in their Sunriver family home that I hadn’t been back to since a work retreat many years ago!
The wedding was absolutely stunning and the attention to detail was incredible! Huge shout out to their coordinators! From the gorgeous flowers that lined the path to the ceremony on the golf course and the gorgeous seating areas set up for the reception to the fun yet classy donut wall, everything was absolutely perfect! The coordinator even got big white tents the morning of the wedding because of the weather forecast! With the hanging lights inside and everyone underneath them it gave the reception an enclosed, cozy feel.
Everyone looked incredible that day! Ali had on the most classic and timeless dress paired with her gorgeous bouquet accented with succulents as well as in her hair. The color palette was the stuff of wedding dreams!
Getting to photograph so many beautiful people actually turned out to be quite eventful! With the skies turning from dark and cloudy to super bright and then to rainy all while lightening was literally striking behind me, it made for an exciting time! But even after all of that, including a coyote scurrying across the grass feet away from me and wild birds flying up as the ceremony started, the skies gave us the most beautiful gift of two rainbows that day! I think it’s so symbolic of marriage. Sometimes things get dark and stormy in marriage, but if you wait out the storm, the skies will part and you’ll get the rainbow you’ve been waiting for.
I’m just so happy for Ali & Jeff! I feel so blessed to have been a part of such a gorgeous day! I wish them a lifetime of rainbows!
