Have you ever had one of those full-circle moments that remind you that you are right where you’re supposed to be in life? Emily reached out to me and asked me to photograph her maternity session at Graham Oaks Nature Park was one of those moments for me. Emily was one of my best friends in college. We both attended the University of Oregon and were teammates on the track team. I hadn’t seen Emily in a couple of years. I was over the moon excited to be a part of this special time for her and her husband.
We walked, talked and swapped college memories as I prepped her for life as a boy mama. I couldn’t help but take in how radiant she was with pregnant glow. And her husband was such the perfect doting dad to be, making sure she was safe and supported as traversed the park looking for the perfect shooting spots. I have no doubts that their little boy will be one of the luckiest little ones out there.
Graham Oaks Nature Park provided such a beautiful backdrop for these classic Oregon maternity photos. We had so much fun walking through the park looking for sweet spots in the fields and forests. These two were such troopers as we took in the scenery and they picked out a couple of locations they loved. For a January day in Oregon, we were truly blessed with a beautiful day for shooting; not too cold, no rain, and even a tiny bit of sun. I think this beautiful session was meant to be this winter! I can’t wait for the next chapter in their story. Shooting their beautiful baby boy when he arrives is going to be such an honor.
